Orange red extract is derived from the dried outer peel of the immature or nearly mature fruit of Citrus grandis 'Tomentosa', a Rutaceae plant native to Huazhou, Guangdong, China. It is refined through processes including low-temperature extraction with pure water/ethanol, vacuum concentration, and spray drying. Huazhou's unique karst soil and humid climate nurture the thick, velvety, and pure Huazhou Citrus grandis, a traditional high-quality medicinal and edible raw material in China. The Orange red extract is a brownish-yellow fine powder with a fineness of 80-120 mesh, possessing a faint herbal aroma and a slightly bitter taste. It exhibits excellent flowability and dispersibility, is easily soluble in warm water and dilute ethanol solutions, and is slightly hygroscopic. It can be stored in a conventional sealed, dry warehouse. The core active ingredients are flavonoids such as naringin, hesperidin, and rhubarb glycoside, and it is also rich in volatile oils such as limonene and linalool, plant polysaccharides, and coumarins.
