The sage extract powder is a product obtained by extracting and concentrating the dried leaves, stems or whole plants of the mint family sage (commonly known as the medicinal sage, Salvia officinalis), using solvents such as ethanol and water. The appearance is mostly a fine powder of brownish-yellow to yellowish-green, with the unique fragrance and slightly bitter taste of sage. The core active ingredients in sage extract are sage acid and rosmarinic acid. In addition, it also contains flavonoids such as luteolin and quercetin, as well as volatile oils like 1,8-cineole and camphor.
